LINK® Endo-Model® Arthrodesis Nail SK

Modular system for cemented or cementless implantation

Secondary arthrodesis is the only surgical option for stabilizing the joint and thus maintaining use of the extremity following, for example, failure of knee prostheses/osteosyntheses with loss of function of the extensor apparatus. Implantation of the LINK Endo-Model® arthrodesis nail leads to primary stability, which makes possible rapid, load bearing mobilization for the patient. It is also possible to limit loss of leg length.

The LINK Endo-Model® arthrodesis nail is inserted operatively like a constrained knee endoprosthesis with a stem, targeting topical antibiosis in the case of infection via its cementing. It comprises a femoral and a tibial component. A special coupling mechanism ensures stable linkage of both components. It is obtainable both as a cemented and as a cementless* version.

The stems of the cemented version are tapered, but have three surfaces for ensuring rotation in the cement bed. The femoral stems are anatomically curved directly after the coupling mechanism. Centering stars bring about correct intramedullary positioning at the respective nail end.
